Why: I became a Michael Jackson fan right at the begining of the Thriller
era in Febuary 1983, when I was 11yrs old. But the Bad era is my favorite Michael
Jackson era.
Thriller turned Michael Jackson from a superstar in to a worldwide cultural icon, but the Bad era turned Michael in to the King of Pop and a Living Legend.
Bad (along with Off The Wall) is my favorite Michael Jackson album. I love every song on that album, and in 2007 it still sounds fresh. I loved the Bad era because Michael was raw and full of energy.
My best memory of the Bad era is the Bad Tour. I saw Michael Jackson in concert for the first time in July 1988 at Wembley Stadium. It was my first ever concert, and Michael's live vocals and dancing were even more amazing than I even expected (and I was expecting amazing). Michael Jackson was singing and dancing like a un-stoppable terminator. His vocals and dancing were razor sharp, I just can't put in to words how amazing Michael Jackson was on the Bad Tour. I really thing the Bad Tour is the greatest tour of all time, and the best thing Michael's ever done because it was so real and raw just like all his best songs are.
I think Michael contiues to do amazing things, and my favorite Michael Jackson song is Morphine from the 1990's. I just hope Michael get's back to what he was in the 1980's and starts singing 100% live again, and stops collaborating on writing songs. Because the majority of Michael's greatests songs were written and composed by himself with no collaborators. No collaborator no matter how talented they are can match the genius of a musican that Michael Jackson is.
Michael Jackson means Magic to me, because that's what I feel when I listen to his music and watch him perform. But Michael's magic is uniqe because it's also very raw.

Why: I became a huge Michael Jackson fan in Feb 1983 when I was 11yrs old
when I saw the Billie Jean video on a TV show called Top Of The Pops.
The Bad era is the most special to me, the Bad album was the first album I
awaited as a Michael Jackson fan, and I remember getting up really early in the
morning of Aug/Sep 1987 to by the album from Virgin.
Aside from my personal experiences as a fan, I think Michael was at his peak
during the Bad era. He recorded his most cohesive album, and wrote the all but 2
of the songs on the album. He toured as solo artist for the first time, and
performed live with energy and power that no artist can ever top. Michael
Jackson was like a terminator from 1987-89, his live vocals were really live and
he sounded amazing, and his dancing was fluid and streamlined. I was I've been
lucky enough to attended all of Michael's Bad, Dangerous and History Tours but
the Bad Tour was the most amazing just as the whole Bad era was amazing.
The Bad era was what made Michael Jackson The King of Pop, as it confirmed
Thriller was just a one of success and Michael the Bad Tour showed Michael
Jackson to be the Greatest Artist Live On Tour.

- Michael's retaliating against the unjust pursuit of him, and breach of his
fundamental rights. He expresses his anger towards this through music, and
through his HIStory album, and the amazing, poignant and touching videos that
portray these songs. For example, Stranger In Moscow. That vid. is pure genius,
and shows raw, beautiful emotion.
I just LOVE this era.
